Whether I work with tangible materials or digital based work I continuously seek to investigate diverse themes, concepts, and techniques, repurposing and decontextualising. Alongside my digital skills I’m drawn to the physicality of hands-on artistic practice and to the production process. While I work as a freelance graphic designer, pottery has been the center of my creative practice for the past two years. I’m inspired from both classic and contemporary sources. Having graduated from the Shenkar Design and Art College in Tel Aviv (BFA in multidisciplinary art, 2014), I then continued my studies in London, graduating from the Graphic Communication Design course (BA (Hons) Graphic Communication Design, 2020) at Central Saint Martins. I was born in Cyprus, raised in Israel, and lived most of my life in-between these two points; geographically, culturally, religiously, and with two languages. Things I care about:cats, tea, art, community,&nbsp;books, taking baths, cinema, the fabric of the universe, editing, hair, texture &amp; materiality, music, questioning what’s real, challenging what’s fake, climbing, typography, my family, aliens, friendship, cooking, dancing, my plants, fresh air, boredom. While I’m still exploring my personal style, each piece reflects a blend of spontaneity and precision, where calculated techniques meet the freedom of experimentation. The&nbsp;pop-culture and esthetics of the 90’s and 2000’s are ingrained in me, part of my estetic&nbsp;rolledex. I work mainly but not exclusively with found-footage, where I break down and rebuild the materials into something new while preserving the memory of the old. My process is instinctive, aiming to raise questions through irony and humour, emotion, provocation, and repurposing. Keren and I developed the concept together, through conversations about music, and our shared inspirations. We shot on location at the Henry Moor foundation in London where Moore’s sculptures became central to the video’s surreal, otherworldly atmosphere. Synchronise your blinking to the beat in order to view the film.&nbsp; ‘BLINKERAMA!’ was made using found-footage; ‘La Grenouille’ (1908) and ‘Les Roses Magiques’ (1906) by Segundo de Chomón. Visually stunning, these silent short films are hand-painted with fantastic colours that give them a unique appearance and the sense of transient fantasy I was looking for. Good luck ‘intra’: within / during / between Layer of A liminal space is usually empty, it can be referred to as a threshold or a transitional space; giving the feeling of something being ‘off’. That feeling was the basis for this work. Imagine a film that uses only moments between happenings, a space where you are constantly waiting for something to happen and are kept in a constant state of anticipation. Many of the scenes used in ‘intra’ were sampled from comedies and dramas, not from horror films. It is the placement of these scenes — their new context, the pace, the sound and the visual of liminality which created the impending feeling of eeriness and suspense that we usually experience while watching thrillers. What we find, we alter too The ambiguous nature of these images is what interested me; neither from here nor there, ominous in their uncertainty; taking something which was created by a robot with no consciousness, for practical reasons, and giving it new meaning. Viewing these representations as a moving-image sequence, the visual logic of the landscape is broken, inviting you to look at them in an unexpected way. But the way it is used varies dramatically from its actual meaning; be it sarcasm, anger, a goodbye, comic relief, etc. I set out to explore the dissonance between how the phrase ‘I love you’ is used in cinema and what it means to me personally. The compilation of ‘I love you’ scenes taken out of context aims to exaggerate and expose the often ridiculous use of that moment — it is drained of its meaning; it is no longer special; it loses its aura.
